A. To enable simpler access to programs, the Vista Start menu contains an instant search capability. If you press the Start key (formerly known as the Windows key), you open the Start menu, and by default the focus is the instant search box. You can then start typing the name of the program, Control Panel applet, document, or favorite you want to run. As you type, the search results will dynamically update to show the most relevant matching results, which you can execute by pressing Enter or by simply selecting the match you want to run
