Q: I copied VOB files from a home DVD into a Windows 8 Movie Maker project, and the video is missing, though the audio works--why?

A: In Windows 8, the DVD codecs are part of the Media Center add-on. To be able to use VOB files in Windows 8, you need to purchase and install the Media Center add-on.
