Why do I get an error message when I slipstream install Windows 2000 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) from a nonbootable CD-ROM?

A. If you generate a slipstream installation from a nonbootable CD-ROM and then use the four Win2K setup floppy disks to boot your system, you receive the following message:

The following value in the .SIF file used by setup is corrupted or missing:
Value '0' on the line in section \[SourceDiskFiles\] with key "SP1.CAB"

To resolve the problem, replace the txtsetup.sif file on the first setup floppy with the txtsetup.sif file in the updated I386 folder.

To slipstream install Win2K and a service pack, see How can I use slipstreaming to install Windows 2000 and a service pack at the same time?

Yeah, just explore the windows 2000 CD and open the i386 folder. The txtsetup.sif file is located here. Just click on the file to highlight it then "ctrl + c" to copy then "ctrl + v" to paste over the current file on the floppy. Or just drag and drop from the D: (cd drive name) to floppy (A:). Setup should work like a dream after this. See http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=14852 for a bit more about this topic.
