The general syntax for installation of Internet Explorer 7 from the command-line is:

PackageName.exe /switch

Where PackageName.exe is the file you downloaded, like IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe and /switch is one or more switches, like on the following command line:

IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe /quiet /norestart

The Setup switches are:

<b> /passive </b>     - No user input is required.
                 Windows Genuine Advantage validation occurs and updates are downloaded.

<b> /quiet</b>        - The Setup user interface is not displayed.
                 Windows Genuine Advantage validation occurs and updates are downloaded.

<b> /update-no</b>    - Setup does not download updates.

<b> /no-default</b>   - Setup does not make Internet Explorer 7 the default browser.

<b> /nobackup</b>     - Setup does not backup the files needed to uninstall Internet Explorer 7.

<b> /norestart</b>    - Setup does not cause the computer to restart after the installation.

<b> /forcerestart</b> - Setup forces the computer to restart after the installation.

<b> /help</b>         - Setup displays a list of command-line switches.

<b> /log:<path></b>   - Setup creates the <b><path></b> log file.
