Q. Can you manage Windows Phone 7 with System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2007?

A. Windows Phone 7 doesn't support management by SCCM 2007 or the System Center Mobile Device Manager. Windows Phone 7 supports management through Exchange ActiveSync (EAS), which is becoming a standard in mobile device management.

The initial release of Windows Phone 7 will be managed through Exchange, and when the next version of SCCM ships, it will support Phone 7 through its own implementation of EAS Management. Going forward, the goal would be for Windows Phone 7 to support more advanced management through a future version of SCCM's mobile device support.
