When you attempt to access a Web page that is hosted by IIS (Internet Information Services) and is configured to use SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) by using the HTTPS protocol, you receive:
Page cannot be displayed.
The Web server's event log contains:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Schannel
Event Category: None
Event ID: 36869
Description: The SSL server credential's certificate does not have a private key information property attached to it. This most often occurs when a certificate is backed up incorrectly and then later restored. This message can also indicate a certificate enrollment failure.
This behavior occurs because the Web site has been bound to a certificate that doesn't have a matching private key. When you attempt to export this certificate using the Certificates MMC, there is no option to export the private key. When you export the certificate, you receive a You DON'T have a private key that corresponds to this certificate warning.
To resolve this behavior:
NOTE: See SSL Diagnostics tool.
