When you view the properties of a file, a folder, a registry key, or a printer, it takes more than 15 seconds to resolve the SID (Security SIDentifier) to a user name.
This behavior will occur if the DACL (Discretionary Access Control List) and the SACL (System Access Control List) contain a disabled user account, because the Net Logon service on a domain member tries to resolve the UPN (User Principal Name) for 15 seconds.
To workaround this behavior, remove the disabled account from the DACL and the SACL:
1. Select the Security tab.
2. Select the disabled account and press Remove.
3. Press Advanced.
4. Select the Auditing tab.
5. Select the disabled account and press Remove.
