You can change a Windows account password that is on any Windows NT computer (NT x.x, Windows 2000 (NT 5.0), or Windows XP (NT 5.1)), from any Windows NT computer (NT x.x, Windows 2000 (NT 5.0), or Windows XP (NT 5.1)).
You do not have to be logged on as the user whose password you want to change, nor do you have to be an administrator.
To change your password:
1. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL on any Windows NT computer.
2. Press Change Password.
3. Type the User name whose password you wish to change.
4. In the Log on to box, toggle the domain or computer where the account resides, or type the computer name or domain name.
5. Type the Old Password.
6. Type the New Password.
7. Type the new password into the Confirm New Password box.
8. Press OK.
NOTE: This procedure works even if you don't have the right to access the target computer from the network, if it is outside your allowed logon times, or if your password has expired.
