If the device settings, in printer Properties, on the print server, reset to default values when a client views them, you have encountered a bug.

This is caused when the client has the right to change printer settings and the client workstation uses a different language than the server.

To workaround this bug, copy the Rasddui.dll and Rasddui.hlp files from the server (%systemroot%\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\2 to the client.
