Windows IT Pro Magazine announced today the 29 finalists for the Best of Microsoft Tech·Ed 2005 Europe Awards conducted by Windows IT Pro Magazine and SQL Server Magazine. Winners will be determined and announced at Microsoft Tech·Ed 2005 Europe in Amsterdam, on Thursday 7th July at an evening awards reception.

The following companies were picked as finalists:

The Data Management Solutions finalists are FALCONSTOR SOFTWARE's IPStor Storage Server for Microsoft WSS, Quest Software Nederland's Quest Central for SQL Server and Red Gate Software Limited's SQL Bundle Developer Edition.

The Hardware Solutions finalists are EqualLogic, Inc.'s EqualLogic PS200E, Hewlett Packard's HP Compaq Tablet PC and Proxim's Smart Wireless Controller.

Finalists for the Messaging category are Argent Software's Argent Exchange Monitor, Quest Software Nederland's Quest MessageStats and Insider Technologies Ltd's Sentra.

The successful finalists for Mobile Computing are ESRI-Europe's ArcPad and Brainboxes Bluetooth Compactflash and Bluetooth Serial connectivity.

The Productivity & Collaboration finalists are Cambridge Convergence Ltd's CommStream, Media Stream's e-phone and RADVISION's Click to Meet

Finalists for the Security category are ScriptLogic's Active Administrator, Sunbelt System Software's CounterSpy Enterprise and Protocom's SecureLogin

Software Components & Middleware category finalists are SRI-Europe's ArcGIS Engine, AutomatedQA's Automated Build Studio and Infragistics Europe LLC's NetAdvantage 2005.

The Software Development Tools finalists are Identify Software's AppSight, eBay's Software Development Kit for Windows and TurboDemo.com's TurboDemo.

Finalists for Systems Management are Argent Software's Argent Guardian, Configuresoft's Enterprise Configuration Manager/Security Update and Hewlett Packard's HP OpenView Operations.

The Software Management Tools finalists are Borland's StarTeam Enterprise Advantage, Compuware's TestPartner and AutomatedQA's TestComplete
