Thanks to W. Dallman Ross for the tip: Microsoft has quietly released a new version of its controversial Windows Media Player, the all-in-one player that handles a variety of audio and video formats, including Windows Media (NetShow), Real Audio, Real Video, AVI, MPEG, QuickTime, WAV, and more. Windows Media Player 6.0 can be downloaded (it's about 4 MB) from the CNET Web site.
