Apple Computer disclosed in its yearly 10K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that its marketshare fell sharply during 1997. Worldwide, Apple's marketshare fell from 5.2% to 3.1%, while it fell from 6.6% to 4.3% in the United States. While Apple was consistently in the top three biggest personal computer manufacturers for many years, they've recently fallen out of the that tier. Sadly, Apple expects its marketshare to fall even further during 1998, "through at least \[March\] 1998, if not longer.
