Windows 8.1 makes it easy to capture screenshots and then share them using the apps configured to allow sharing.
Here's how to do it:
- Anywhere in Windows 8.1 or a Windows app, open the Share charms menu (swipe from the right for touchscreens or hover the mouse cursor at the bottom right).
- When the Share menu appears, hit the drop down menu just below the Share title.
- Choose the Screenshot option.
- Once the Screenshot has been gathered, you'll be given options of apps to use for sharing.
Interestingly, if you try this in Desktop mode and run more than a single monitor, it will capture the images from all of the monitors at once and create a sort of image collage, like this:
Incidentally, for the next 8 days, Microsoft is running a contest where they randomly pick screenshots of the Windows 8.1 desktop that are shared to Twitter using the #MyStart hashtag.
