Released on November 7, 2013 with little fanfare, the fix for mouse problems while playing games in Windows 8.1 has been released. Distributed already through Windows Update, it's also now available for download for those who are tasked with managing update distributions in a more controlled manner.
Very little fanfare, yes, but also very hard to determine exactly what the patch does unless you can locate the actual associated Knowledge Base Article and read about it there. You would have thought Microsoft would make more of this since issues were reported far and wide right after the release of Windows 8.1.
The patch is here:
- Update for Windows 8.1 (KB2908279) x86
- Update for Windows 8.1 (KB2908279) x64
- Update for Windows Server 2012 R2 (KB2908279)
