Migrating to a new operating system, especially when users have been using their existing desktop operating system for many years, involves overcoming a number of challenges. Not only do you need to ensure that all important business data stored on the current computer makes it to the updated computer, you need to make sure that existing applications work and that the transition to the new OS is seamless and not disruptive. In other words, if IT teams believe Windows 10 will facilitate productivity and agility, it’s critical that their expectation matches the user experience. The key is in the migration.

In this session, Windows 10 expert, MVP and Penton contributing editor, Orin Thomas, will delve into the challenges around Windows 10 migration and talk about what can go wrong. Join him to learn how to:

  • Locate user data stored in unusual places
  • Backup, centralize and migrate data
  • Migrate user persona and application settings
  • Phase migrations with rollback options
