I reported yesterday that Microsoft has released the 2014 version of MDOP for Software Assurance customers. MDOP is a suite of tools available that helps organizations maximize Windows through enhanced virtualization, security, management, and diagnostics. Software Assurance customers can download MDOP 2014 as of Thursday.

However, there are a couple additional items that are important for getting even more out of the release, and they are now also available for download.

The first is the Group Policy Administrative Templates, allowing administrators to configure settings and policies for the MDOP suite of technologies. The self-extracting file contains GPO templates for App-V 5.0, App-V 5.0 SP1, App-V 5.0 SP2, MBAM 1.0, MBAM 1.0 R1, MBAM 2.0, MBAM 2.0 SP1, MBAM 2.5, UE-V 1.0, UE-V 1.0 SP1, and UE-V 2.0.

Each technology has its own set of GPO template files and once extracted, should be copied to:

Group Policy template (.admx) = %systemroot%\sysvol\domain\policies\PolicyDefinitions

Group Policy language file (.adml) = %systemroot%\sysvol\domain\policies\PolicyDefinitions\[MUIculture]\[MUIculture]

The download is here: Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack Group Policy Administrative Templates

The other download is a PowerShell cmdlet reference, covering MBAM and UE-V. MBAM provides 16 PowerShell cmdlets, and UE-V includes 20.

The download for that is here: Cmdlet Reference Download for Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP)
