I don't know a single person that wants a touch based Office on a computer.

Who is off the mark?

Think about this for a min. What divisions at Microsoft make money? Its not the Surface, or Bing, or Xbox (after 10 years), or Windows phone.

Its the...

"Microsoft has pinned its hopes to a broader, more entertainment-driven strategy that will likely prove more popular with a mass audience, however."

This is everything to be honest. The...

Sorry I don't trust MS numbers. Is that into consumer hands or to Target (name your store) where I saw a lot of Xbox Ones waiting to be sold?

My kids where huge Xbox 360 fans but they are...

Tuesday, December 17, 2013 - 2:32pm

Unless, day one, there is a way to run it from a browser on a PC/Mac and on tablet devices with iOS/Android this move will fail big time.

Netflix and Amazon are on everything. If I had to...

Thursday, December 5, 2013 - 5:32pm

I agree its a tie, something 81 million for the 360 and 82 million for the PS3.

The key is that the 360 was out on the market for a full year before the PS3 and Wii. One would assume that...

Wednesday, December 4, 2013 - 6:39pm

But the 360 sold fewer units than the PS3 and Wii. That with a full year more of being on the market.

Wednesday, December 4, 2013 - 6:37pm

How does that translate in to financial success? The Xbox division was 2.8 billion in the whole at the end of 2012. That was BEFORE the cost of the Xbox One.

Wednesday, December 4, 2013 - 2:34pm

So the 360 has fallen to 3rd place for the "last generation". This happened despite it having a full year more on the market than the PS3 and Wii.

I predict it will be even worse for this...

Merry Christmas from all of us at Microsoft. Just after the first of the year we will be killing off a version of Windows. If your lucky it won't be the one that is wrapped up under the tree....

It works fine for us...because the servers (vmware) are on premise. I agree running a desktop over internet connections would suck for a desktop type of user.

Wednesday, November 20, 2013 - 1:10pm

90% of our user have a Wyse client setup to hit a Windows 2008 R2 virtualized (on vmware) TS farm or a Windows 7 VDI. We moved to this platform in 2006. The 2003 terminal servers back then were...

Friday, November 8, 2013 - 9:41pm

Um Sony HAS made money, lots of it off of its play station line. The Xbox division is still after all this time something like 3 billion in the RED.

It makes sense to sell off or kill the...

It does seem like he has to always get a ding in there. Childish at best. He has been doing the same thing for years. He has mellowed (age?) but its still there and just as lame as before....

Friday, October 25, 2013 - 1:16am

I am surprised its NOT higher. In November of 2012 Microsoft jacked the prices of CAL's by 15% across the board. (Windows CAL's, Office CAL's, TS CAL's, Lync...Exchange...etc)

On November...

You live in a fantasy land. Corporations will wait to the last min to get off Windows 7. It has been that way with every version so far.

Corporations do not exist to constantly update...

Ummmmm yeah it was Netflix and other options that helped me cut the cord already. Never going back either.

Cant see how this will help anything for the cable companies.

Really? Last quarter, you know the quarter right before new hardware came out, they sold 38 million iPhones.

You would think it would have been their worst quarter. I bet they sell over...

Thursday, September 12, 2013 - 9:02am

I have no doubt that August was the biggest activation month for Windows 8 to date.

Windows 8 came out last October, well past the "back to school" computer sales. Even during the December...

I would not be surprised if next month when the iPads, new Haswell based Mac's and OS X Mavericks ship that a new version of the OS X iWork ships as well and for free.

If this is true I can...

Exactly how is it a rip off?

What you and Paul both dont get is that this is really nothing different from the past 2-4 years for Apple.

Last year.....iPhone 5 was top of the line,...

Tuesday, September 10, 2013 - 11:17pm

Ummmm unlike Windows Phone 8 there is backwards compatibly and older devices (many of them) get the 32bit version of the OS.
