A. If you've configured a sound to play when a new email message arrives and that sound doesn't play even after you've used the Control Panel Sound applet to confirm that it is correctly configured, you can configure the sound via the registry:
- Start regedit.exe.
- Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\.Default\MailBeep\.current.
- Double-click (Default), and set its value to the WAV file to play.
- Click OK.
- Close regedit.
- Restart the machine.
