Microsoft's plans to address a problem that plagues millions of Windows users around the world are becoming a whole lot clearer with its recent acquisition of a little-known company called Giant Software Company. Ironically, this small company makes an excellent and top-rated anti-spyware product, which will become the basis of a new anti-spyware product for Windows. According to computer-industry estimates, spyware-related problems make up 25 percent to 50 percent of tech support calls to major computer manufactures. Spyware is software typically installed without a computer user's knowledge and can cause annoying problems, such as random pop-up ads, and more severe problems, such as stolen passwords and computer data. Microsoft plans to release a beta product based on Giant's technology in a month, but if you're interested in a sneak peak of the offering, check out a preview at the SuperSite for Windows
