If a W95 client is several levels down on a shared network drive, issuing a DIR will hang the client.

If you set the current folder folder to:

<drive>:\Folder1\Folder2\Folder3\Folder4\Folder5

and issue a DIR, the W95 client will hang.

NOTE: <drive>: is the mapped drive to the DFS folder.

To work around this problem, set the current folder to <drive>: and type

DIR <drive>:\Folder1\Folder2\Folder3\Folder4\Folder5

NOTE: This can also happen if the DFS volume on the Windows NT server has a volume label.
