A. If you have at least one working user-defined reason, you can prevent the system from displaying the default ones by performing the following steps:
- Start regedit.exe.
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Reliability.
- From the Edit menu, select New, DWORD value.
- Enter a name of ShutdownIgnorePredefinedReasons, and press Enter.
- Double-click the new value, and set it to 1.
- Click OK.
The system will no longer display the default reasons. To get the default reasons back, either set ShutdownIgnorePredefinedReasons to 0 or delete this value.
