Best Applications and Operations Management Tool

Best Applications and Operations Management Tool. Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005 is the newest version of Microsoft's premier event and performance management tool for Windows Server System. Almost twice as many readers voted for MOM 2005 as they did for last year's winner in this category, HP's OpenView Operations for Windows. MOM 2005 introduces enhancements that improve applications and operations management, including an Operator Console, which gives you a view into the state of your systems; state monitoring; topological tools; rule-override capability; and 64-bit support for managed servers. Management packs monitor the health of your managed servers, alerting administrators to critical problems, and associate specific knowledge-base content to alerts, helping administrators to resolve those problems. Many non-Microsoft management packs are available and enable MOM 2005 to manage a variety of non-Microsoft applications.
