SharePoint's business intelligence workload has significantly improved in SharePoint 2013. But with that comes complication in managing and supporting the BI infrastructure.
Join Randy for this interactive online training course and learn how your users can benefit from Microsoft's latest reporting technologies and how you can better manage the challenges of BI and SharePoint.
Session 1: SQL Server 2012 R2 and SharePoint 2013: Reporting Nirvana – 11am ET
With SQL Server 2012 R2 and SharePoint 2013, Microsoft delivers on a critical business need: end-user driven reporting solutions. In this session, be prepared to be amazed by the power and ease of Power View, Microsoft's latest reporting technology that lets regular users build rich, dynamic reporting applications right from the browser. We'll then see how PowerPivot lets business analysts use Excel to create and publish powerful reporting and dashboard solutions without any code. We'll then learn how the next generation of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) integrates as a pure SharePoint service application, simplifying deployment and the architecture of your reporting platform.
Session 2: An IT Pro Guide for Managing SharePoint's BI Infrastructure (Part 1) – 1pm ET
The Business Intelligence workload has significantly improved in SharePoint 2013. But to many administrators, it seems to be a confusing array of choices with a lack of clear guidance with how best to provision, configure, secure and troubleshoot. This IT Pro-centered talk will focus on these four management challenges. In addition, we’ll also look at the layered BI architecture and partition out what functions SharePoint has versus SQL Server. If you are expected to support the underlying BI platform provided by Excel Services, PowerPivot, or Power View, you don’t want to miss this session. Note: This session is designed for on-premises or IaaS SharePoint deployments.
Session 3: An IT Pro Guide for Managing SharePoint’s BI Infrastructure (Part 2) – 3pm ET
Continuing from Part 1, we'll continue to our architectural dissection and discuss recommendations on how to provision, configure, secure and troubleshoot SQL Server Reporting Services and Performance Point Services.
