A. The most basic use is as follows:
<command> ><file name>
e.g., dir/s >list.txt
However with this errors still get output to the screen, to rectify this use the 2> for the errors, e.g.
<command> ><file name> 2><error file>
e.g. dir/s >list.txt 2>error.txt
If you want the errors and output to goto the same file use the following
<command> ><file name> 2>&1
