Q. How do I manage Windows Server 2008’s Hyper-V technology (formerly known as Windows Server Virtualization)?
A. With Virtual Server, management was via a Web page. However with Windows Server Virtualization (WSV), you use a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in that is also integrated with Server Manager, which is accessed via its Role as the figure shows. You configure server properties by selecting Virtualization Settings from the action pane when selecting a server. From this console, virtual machines can be created, added, and fully managed. The connection is like a super RDP allowing pre-boot access as if you’re sitting at the machine.
