July 5, 2005 (Loveland, Colorado) - The associate publisher of Penton Media's (OTCBB:PTON) SQL Server Magazine, Michele Crockett, announced today the Get Ready for SQL Server 2005 Roadshow, brought to IT professionals by Microsoft, PASS (the Professional Association for SQL Server) and SQL Server Magazine, has been so successful that it will be presented in 15 additional cities July through September. The initial phase of the Roadshow went to seven cities across the United States, presenting best practices for migrating to SQL Server 2005.
"This Roadshow has been amazingly successful across the country. We are finding that IT professionals are hungry for the information we are presenting about how SQL Server 2005 will impact their work this year," said Crockett. "Some of the Roadshow venues have been sell-outs, so we wanted to expand on our success and reach even larger audiences across the country through the addition of 15 venues."
"It is great to see this type of excitement around SQL Sever 2005," said Paul Flessner, senior vice president of Server Applications at Microsoft. "The Roadshow has provided an unparalleled opportunity for customers and partners to learn about the new features and functionality that have been added to SQL Server 2005. We are pleased that it will be
extended to another 15 cities and encourage those that are interested in learning more about SQL Server 2005 to attend one of the events."
"These one-day events are the best 'quick-start' opportunity available for SQL Server users to get a jumpstart on migrating to SQL Server 2005," explained Kevin Kline, PASS President, and SQL Server MVP. "By providing users with the very best education and outstanding local networking outlets, the Roadshows help strengthen the SQL Server
community and facilitate the information sharing that helps us all do our jobs better."
