A. The PowerShell Community Extensions are a free, open-source set of add-in cmdlets, functions, and other functionality for Windows PowerShell. The cmdlets let you work with databases, retrieve HTTP resources, and much more. Many of these extensions are pretty developer-oriented, meaning that they provide access to complex features such as message queuing and database programming. Others duplicate functionality that's found in other shells but missing in PowerShell. The Extensions also include a number of scripts that perform complex tasks like stopping a remote process.
