Microsoft has updated the connector that ties System Center Operations Manager 2012 SP1 to the similar cloud service, System Center Advisor. The Preview connector released requires that OpsMgr 2012 SP1 be running Update Rollup 3 (UR3) that was just released (read about that here: Update Rollup 3 for System Center 2012 Service Pack 1 released).

If you're not familiar with System Center Advisor, it's a cloud service that works in a similar fashion as the on-premise Operations Manager.  There's two components to System Center Advisor. The first is the web service that is hosted in Widows Azure. The second is an on-premise installation of a gateway and an agent.  The agent collects data from your environment and periodically synchs it with the System Center Advisor web service, allowing admins to connect with a web browser to review potential issues and alerts.

The connector Preview released, allows System Center Advisor to gather data from Operations Manager and synch that information into Windows Azure.

System Center Advisor enables IT Professionals to proactively avoid problems resulting from server configuration issues. In addition to helping resolve issues faster by providing current and historical data (baselines), it also provides suggestions for improvement and will alert of updates to configurations.

System Center Advisor is powered by Windows Azure, SQL Azure, and Silverlight, and supports Windows Server 2012 and Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2012, Windows Server 2008 and 2008 R2, SQL Server 2008 and later, Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and later, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 and later, and Microsoft Lync Server 2010.
