Here's further proof that anything can be managed using Windows PowerShell.

Microsoft has released a PowerShell module that allows for management of Lync Online deployments and user accounts.

For the module to even install, you need to be

  1. Running Windows PowerShell 3.0, and
  2. Already have the Microsoft Online Services Sign-In Assistant installed.

P.S. the Online Services Sign-In Assistant does not yet support Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012.
