When a Web page contains the cache-control: no-cache HTTP header, browsing back to it after submitting data causes Internet Explorer in Windows XP SP2 (Service Pack 2) to report:

Page could not be displayed

Prior to SP2, you would have received:

Warning: Page has Expired
The page you requested was created using information you submitted in a form. This page is no longer available. As a security precaution, Internet Explorer does not automatically resubmit your information for you. To resubmit your information and view this Web page, click the Refresh button.

You can workaround this behavior by:

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. Using the Tools menu to press Internet Options.

3. Selecting the Advanced tab.

4. Clearing the Show friendly HTTP error messages box.

5. Pressing the Apply and OK buttons.
