Doreen Ligomeka Information Technology Officer MAW |
Responsibilities: I am responsible for maintaining a 65 user windows 2000 LAN managing an exchange 2000 server maintaining an access HIV/AIDS database for Malawi and providing day day user support. How have certifications helped you? Certifacations have put confidence in my management. They now take every advice I give seriously. Why should you be in the MCP Hall of Fame? I am the first Malawi Lady (resident in Malawi) to be an MCSE and have done this in harshest conditions possible. Since Malawi has no test centre, I had to write the exams in South Africa and at one point I had to sit for 4 exams and passed three in one week. In Malawi where IT expertise is scarce, you have to be an all-in-one professional. I manage that by being a systems admin, network admin, help desk officer, and everything else. This is no small achivement in a male dominated society like Malawi. What does one need to be in the Hall of Fame? |
