Q: Can I convert a VHDX file to a VHD file?

A: If a VHDX file is less than 2040GB in size, then the VHDX can be converted to virtual hard disk (VHD) using the same processes as described in the FAQ "Q: How can I convert a VHD to a VHDX file?" If a VHDX file is larger than 2040GB, the only conversion possible would be to VHDX to enable a switch between dynamic and fixed formats, but a switch to VHD isn't possible as VHD has a limit of 2040GB.
