How can I delete the list of previously searched contacts in the Outlook Standard toolbar?
The Find a Contact box on the Standard toolbar keeps a most recently used list that's handy for recalling information about a contact. But Outlook provides no option in its UI to clear that information; you must clear it with a registry edit. You'll need to exit Outlook first and back up the Windows registry. Then, for Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, go to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Contact\QuickFindMRU subkey and delete the QuickFindMRU value under that key. For Outlook 2002, replace 11.0 in the subkey with 10.0; for Outlook 2000, replace 11.0 with 9.0. When you restart Outlook, the list of previously searched contacts should be blank.
