Forms-Based Authentication and Extranet Deployment Options for SharePoint 2007This session covers the specifics of how to configure Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 for forms-based authentication scenarios. We will present specifics on configuring SharePoint to use external directory sources and SQL databases for user provisioning is presented, and strengths and limitations of various approaches to SharePoint Extranet deployment scenarios. A step-by-step demonstration of setting up FBA in SharePoint 2007 will also be presented. The session also focuses on other Extranet deployment considerations for SharePoint 2007 environments, such as overall farm architecture, security, and real-world design scenarios.
• Examine the exact steps required to enable Forms-Based Authentication in existing SharePoint Farms.
• Learn best practice approaches to dealing with Extranet security requirements.
• Examine the security considerations of multi-farm deployments for Extranet and Internet deployment scenarios.

Dan Holme
	Dan Holme, a graduate of Yale University and Thunderbird, has spent over a decade as a consultant and trainer, delivering solutions to tens of thousands of IT professionals from the most prestigious organizations and corporations around the world. He has recently supported Active Directory design and implementation at enterprises such as Raytheon, ABN AMRO, Johnson & Johnson, and General Electric. He was also the Windows Technologies Consultant for NBC during the Torino Winter Olympics, and is helping NBC to prepare for the Beijing games in 2008.
