Recovering Lost Partitions

I have a system with four partitions. I wanted to create a clean Windows 2000 installation on one partition while leaving the other partitions intact. During Win2K Setup, I chose the Delete partition option on Setup's disk-management screen—and much to my dismay, all four partitions disappeared. I've used a few disk utilities to examine the disk and all my data seems to be intact. Can I rewrite the lost partition entries to recover the partition information?

A third-party data-recovery tool such as Ontrack's EasyRecovery might be useful in your situation. You can download a free trial version of EasyRecovery to determine what, if anything, the utility will be able to recover. (For more product ideas, see Buyer's Guide, "Disk Recovery Tools," June 2003, http://www.winnetmag.com, InstantDoc ID 38937.) If third-party software can't help, you might consult a data-recovery firm such as Ontrack, Data Recovery Services, or DriveSavers Data Recovery.

I am using Windows XP. I have similar problems to you guys. I was trying to merge two partitions into one using Partition Magic 8.0, the process was stopped half way, the application restart. It prompt a incomplete task and asked me to continue, but the Patition Magic 8.0 went hang immediately. The type of the incomplete partition is Pgrp, not FAT32 or FAT or NTFS. What should I do to restore my partition or recover my data in this corrupted partitions? Please Help.

hey eric i had similar problem with partition magic 7.0 however partition magic restored my partition table. just make sure that before running the app u r antivirus software is disabled & also it takes a lot of time (on my p4 512mb ram) it took 2 hours so it is best if u just leave the app running as it is yes windows says it is not responding but don't worry it is working in background. hope this solves u r problem cheers and now ali don't panic follow this link & download this software this will help you here is the link http://www.partition-recovery.com/download.htm

It shows 131mb drive in the window but I can't access it and it doesn't show the 2nd half of the partition at all. I was using partition magic v8. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you....
