Phantom Files in FrontPage

I deleted a file from my Microsoft FrontPage 2000—enabled Web server, but client browsers are still reading the file. I've confirmed that the file is gone from its original folder, but it seems to have a ghost somewhere. How can I remove the file once and for all?

To resolve the problem, look in the folder named _vti_cnf. This folder, which Figure 1, page 112, shows, is a hidden folder that resides below the root of the FrontPage Web server. Delete the file in question if you find a copy of it in the _vti_cnf folder. Typically, this manual removal isn't necessary because FrontPage automatically synchronizes the files in this folder. However, a hiccup occurs occasionally, and FrontPage fails to delete a file. (Note that only Microsoft Internet Explorer—IE—browsers still see such files.)
