Q. How can I clean hidden data and notes from Microsoft Office documents?
A. I often create presentations and documents that contain my speaker notes and other private information. If I want to share the content, I first want to remove any hidden or private information. Fortunately, Microsoft Office 2007 does this pretty much automatically.
- Open the document in you want to clean in an Office program.
- From the Office menu (top left corner) select Prepare and Inspect Document, as shown here.
- Select the types of information you want to check and click Inspect, as shown here.
- The results will be displayed. For any item that contains data you don't want, click the Remove All button, shown here.
- Once you're finished, click Close.
