A healthy Microsoft Exchange Server environment requires healthy Domain Name System (DNS) operations. DNS server integrity is crucial to Microsoft Exchange Server operation—including DNS zone integrity, properly configured Active Directory (AD) components, and smooth name resolution.

I covered two types of DNS problems that affect Exchange: connectivity between Exchange servers and DNS servers, and performance of DNS servers.
