Central Command announced that it is offering its Vexira Antivirus software to accredited colleges, high schools, junior high schools, and grade schools for $1.79 per 1-year license. Vexira monitors email attachments, hard disks, network drives, floppy disks, and Internet downloads for viruses and other suspicious content.

"With this Safe-at-School promotion, we have made dependable virus protection easy to afford for all schools. With an industry average yearly antivirus license priced at $21.95 per user, we are offering huge savings," said Keith Peer, president and CEO of Central Command.

Users must prepay with a credit card or wire transfer for purchases under $5000 and place a minimum order worth $199. Purchases include 30 days of free support with the option of purchasing fee-based support. The offer expires March 30, 2002, and Central Command is limiting the offer to the first 3000 schools that respond. For more information, visit the Central Command Web site.
