Oracle EMEA is holding two major online conferences next month with the help of Windows IT Pro's UK-based event team. Oracle's OPN Days Virtual Event for its business partners takes place on November 12 and, for IT pros, Smart Strategies for New Times will be held on November 17.

The Oracle EMEA Smart Strategies for New Times applications virtual trade show is for higher-level business IT execs and co-sponsorship from IBM underlines the half-day conference's cross-platform appeal. The aim is to discuss how in the wake of the financial crisis, businesses around the globe are being called upon to redefine their role in society, rebuilding trust and restructuring operations from the ground up to meet the planet's most pressing problems. New times, say the event's organisers, demand new strategies.

Four presentations over two one-hour sessions mean visitors can attend one presentation per session (including time for Q&As) before networking with their peers and browsing the exhibitor's booths at the show. Online attendees will start the morning with a choice of either finding out about four ways CRM can be used to drive sales or a seminar outlining seven rules for smart performance management.

The second session of the morning features presentations on how human capital management can drive operational excellence while reducing costs and managing change or delegates can join Oracle's Jeff Linton for "Smart Cities: a practical guide to the future of public service delivery". For the full agenda and registration, see the Smart Strategies for New Times website.

The multilingual OPN Days Virtual Event is being held by the Oracle Partner Network on November 12. The conference will be broadcast simultaneously in English, Czech, French, German, Italian, Polish, Russian, Spanish and Turkish.

The keynote speaker is Harvard Business School professor Andrew McAfee, billed as the world's leading expert on using IT to achieve business goals and the author of the widely acclaimed book Enterprise 2.0: New Collaborative Tools for Your Organisation's Toughest Challenges.

McAfee will make the case that Enterprise 2.0 is not just hype, but it is also not easy to realise. He will argue that the ability to turn it from concept into reality will separate the winners from the losers in the business environment of the future.

The full-day free event features five other session from top-flight Oracle execs. Oracle EMEA executive vice president Loïc le Guisquet, for example, will take delegates through

Oracle's latest strategy as it prepares for the post-recession environment and senior vice president for middleware business Dr. Andrew Sutherland will explain why specialisation is a powerful strategy for increasing revenues.

For the full agenda and registration, see the OPN Days Virtual Event website.
